Pizza
recipe
1. Make
bread dough. We find it easiest to use a bread maker. You
can find reviews of different bread makers at
reviews. Our
formula is 2 ¼ cups flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1
teaspoon of salt, several tablespoons of olive oil and
enough water to make 7 ounces of liquid in all, plus a
teaspoon of dry yeast. You can make the bread dough by
hand, but you have to remember to proof the yeast first.
If you don’t know what “proofing
yeast” means, then you probably shouldn’t do
it by hand.
2. Roll out 2 ounces of bread dough until it is thin. It
should be roughly 8 inches in diameter, but it is not
necessary to make it a perfect circle. A less symmetric
shape makes the pizza look more rustic.
3. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Bake the pizza crust
for three minutes and then turn and bake for another 3
minutes. Do not let the crust brown.
4. Let the pizza crust cool. These can be stored in a
plastic bag for several days.
5. When you are ready, you can add toppings to the pizza.
You use pizza sauce and grated cheese, plus any toppings
that you like. You can get pizza sauce from many places.
The one from Trader Joe’s is good.

Adults sometimes like pizza without pizza sauce. They
like sliced tomatoes and goat cheese and pesto on pizza.
Sometimes, they don’t use tomatoes at all. For
example, they might use sliced duck breast, scallion
shreds, and hoisin sauce.
6. Once you have added the toppings, bake the pizza until
it is done, usually about 9 minutes.
